GOODBYE 2016, HELLO 2017

Happy New Years Eve, babes!  I'm posting this quickly from my final flight of the year, as we're headed to DC for a long weekend.

I wanted to share a quick round up of a few favorite looks + details from the year.  I am so beyond grateful for each and every one of you and can't tell you how much I appreciate you reading + following along throughout the year.  I love the FATL family that we've created over the past few years and John & I are so thankful for you all.  The encouragement, support, and love that you have shown me in 2016 literally means everything.

I have a few really exciting, new things in the works for the blog and I'm so anxious to share them with you!  For starters, I'm launching a new outlet of For All Things Lovely in two weeks, on Monday, January 16th!  Until then, and as I'm getting all of those last minute details together, I'm going to take two weeks off from the blog.  Per usual, I'll still be posting on all social outlets, as well as snapchat, but for the first time ever, I'm taking a quick break from posting on here.  Although it's scary to take some time off, I think between the New Year and our move, it will be the perfect time to do so.  We have to be out of our house on January 13th, so in the midst of moving + putting the final touches on the blog addition, I'll have my hands full.  I'm human enough to know and admit that I won't be able to tackle it all, so taking a few days off is completely necessary.  However, make SURE you guys check back here on the 16th for the launch + a BIG giveaway that you're not going to want to miss!  In the meantime, follow along on instagram + snapchat (@meganrunionmcr)!

Happy New Year to you - CHEERS! xx.

Ruffles + Flares

Sweater: Topshop | Jeans: James Jeans | Shoes: Christian Louboutin | Handbag: Prada {also love this} | Sunglasses: Cèline | Rings: David Yurman {one + two} | Belt: Gucci | Lips: MAC Liner 'Stripdown' + MAC Lipstick 'Blankety'

Is there anything better than a lightweight, neutral sweater that ALSO has belle sleeves?  The minute I saw this sweater I fell in love with it.  It's so classic and reminds me of a vintage, Chanel sweater that you could wear for years to come.  I wanted to pair it with super flared jeans + a chic, black pump to really dress the denim up a bit.  This would be a perfect outfit for meeting the girls for happy hour or easily transitioning your daytime look to nighttime.

It's been a long, crazy week full of purging, cleaning, and getting ready to move!  We're catching an early flight in the morning to DC with a couple of our friends to celebrate the new year and couldn't be more excited!  But, be sure to check back here tomorrow for a round up of all my favorite looks from 2016!

I hope you all have the best New Years Eve!!  I'm so excited for the start of a new year and all that comes with it.  Resolutions, big changes, and fresh starts - so much to look forward to!  Cheers, babes!  So thankful for each and every one of you!

Thanks to Nordstrom for partnering on this post!

Hi there, lovelies -

I hope you're enjoying a little down time this week between Christmas and New Years Eve.  This week is always one of my favorites to slow down a bit, reflect on an amazing year that's almost completely behind us, and set a few goals + resolutions for the year ahead.
When I think about my 'best of 2016', only one word comes to mind- travel.  Starting with our first trip to Chicago in January, John and I hit the ground running knowing that we wanted to travel as much as we possibly could.  26 flights and 17 weekend road trips later, 2016 was definitely a year to remember.  So many beautiful places including LA, San Diego, The Hamptons, Nashville, NYC and a couple that I loved so much I traveled to twice, D.C. and Chicago.
2017 is going to be a big year!  First up - we're moving out of our first home on January 13th and starting a new adventure.   We're moving in with friends for 6 months while renovating and adding on to our new place here in Greenville.  I'll be able to share more details soon, but J and I are beyond excited.  We love having a project like this to work on together!  It will also be a fun, lifestyle outlet of my blog for a few months which will provide a lot of new, exciting content.  So once again, we're starting off the new year with a bang and it's time to set a few resolutions for FATL in 2017!

1. Stay Organized.  Since my routine of working from home will be off a bit for the next few months, I'm really going to have to work on staying organized and put together.  Currently, I have a weekly calendar full of goals, meetings, and deadlines and for the most part, my system works pretty well.  However, diving into a new house project while living out of a suitcase (ok, not really, but it will be different) can easily throw that off.  For the new year, I'm focusing on creating more structure and making GSD lists.

2. Be Creative.  In October of 2016, John and I were so excited to on-board our first member to the FATL team!  Instead of going with an assistant or someone of that nature (however, let's be serious- we all know I need a life coach 99% of the time), we decided to hire a 'Creative Director' to join our team.  This has been SO fun for me, because I constantly have all of these ideas running through my head that together, Bonnie and I bring to life.  I want to continue creating new, exciting content that makes you want to wake up each morning and check first thing.

3. Let you in.  Opening up about personal things can be daunting in any scenario, but especially when you're putting it on the internet.  With the various online forums and websites that are out there, simply to tear people down, it's beyond intimidating sometimes to let people in on personal details.  However, after pouring my heart out to you guys earlier this year in a few 'life update' posts, I am SO grateful for the outpouring of love that was shown to me.  Although 2016 was an amazing year, I also dealt with some really hard things.  Like everyone does.  I was trying to go through my normal, day-to-day life without letting anyone in or showing any type of weakness, until I just simply couldn't any longer.  Going behind the blog and sharing those genuine, hard moments with you guys was one of the best decisions I made.  I promise to continue to be a real person.  One with real feelings, emotions, and struggles that you can relate to.  Although I always want FATL to be a happy place - full of chic outfits, amazing travel, and daily inspiration, I'm also human enough to know that's not what life is all about.  So we might as well embrace it all together.

4. Write. Most people don't realize the work that goes in to one single blog post - and that's that way it should be.  Our goal as fashion bloggers is to make outfits and styling look effortless.  However, it's typically not always like that.  I mean, it's completely normal to stand in the street in 5 inch heels while posing for the perfect shot, right?  (If you only knew how many times you've almost lost me to a car...)  However, that's all part of the fun of it and as odd as it is, I love each and every one of those moments because I LOVE what I do.  All of that to say, by the time the styling of the outfit happens, the photoshoot, the editing, and getting the blog post + outfit links all together, it's quite the process.  I've taken the easy way out too many times by simply writing 'thanks for stopping by' at the bottom of my post and calling it a day.  I love to write.  It's one of the reasons I started this blog in the first place and it's such a creative outlet for me.  Whether it be about the outfit I'm styling, or simply about what's happening in life that day, I promise to be more than pretty images in 2017.

Aside from blog goals, here are a few personal resolutions I'm setting for myself:

Give myself grace.
Always seek adventure.
Don't get caught up in the small stuff.
Never let my inbox get over 50 emails. Whew, deep breaths.
Go to three concerts.
Show my friends so much love.
Go to the water at least once a month.  It's simply good for my soul.
Wash my hair.  Just in general.
Always see the glass half full and encourage others.
Take care of my skin.

What are some of the resolutions you guys are setting for yourselves?  I'd love to hear them!

Thanks so much for stopping by babes, xx.

Hi there, lovelies -

I hope you're all having a great week so far and finishing all of your 'to-do' list items before the holiday weekend!  A few days ago, J and I had our favorite photographer {Carrie Elizabeth Photo} come to our house for one last photoshoot before everything is packed and ready to move.  Initially, I intended for one of those to be our 2016 Christmas card, but I couldn't get my life together long enough to get them ordered and addressed. :/  However, we are beyond grateful to have these photos of our sweet family to look back on one day!

As most of you know, John and I got married really young, at 21 and 20, and purchased our first home together then.  We spent every single weekend renovating, decorating, working in the yard, and making our quaint, little home exactly what we wanted.  These old, wooden floors and the walls surrounding us have literally been our escape from the world and place of solace for the last seven years.  We made more memories than we can count, filled our house full of family and friends each week, and lived our best life inside these walls.  We grew so much as individuals, and as a couple, by tackling life and all the chaos that comes with it, together.  We've celebrated everything, laughed until it hurt, shed many tears over painful things in life, learned how to conquer the world together, never stopped dreaming, and became the people we are today, all in this perfect, 1400 square foot house that we made a home.

To say 'leaving this house is bittersweet' would be an understatement.  The connection we both feel to this place is undeniable and I'm not quite sure anything will ever live up to where we got our start.  However, we know that moving on is our next chapter in life and we're so excited about what's to come!  At the end of the day, John Runion is my home and without a doubt, as long as we're together, each and every stage in life will be just as exciting as the first.

Thanks so much for stopping by! xx.

YAY - our very last Gift Guide for 2016!!  That means Christmas is just right around the corner!  I thought it would be great to end the series on what I'm hoping Santa is bringing me on Saturday night. {Hint, hint J} The two biggest things I want are this Louis Vuitton handbag & these blush mules.  I purchased the wallet in Charleston a couple of weeks ago, in preparation for getting the matching handbag and I'm obsessed with both of them!  Also, can we talk about these shoes?!  Uh, die.

What are you guys hoping to see under your tree this year?!  I'd love to hear your wish list!

Thanks so much for stopping by, xx.

Happy Monday, loves -

I hope you all had a great weekend!  We spent most of ours cleaning and purging, room by room.  When in reality what I really needed to be doing was Christmas shopping!!  I'm literally going to have to spend an entire day at some point this week finishing because I still have SO much to get. :/  Usually I'm so on top of it, but this year has just been absolutely crazy!  What about you guys?

Also, thank you all for the sweet comments about Thursday's post!  So - the bad news about I was so disappointed about ended up turning into GOOD news!!  Remember that time I said what's meant to be will always find a way?!  We are beyond excited for our new chapter and definitely want to fill you guys in on ALL of the details just as soon as it's all a go.  We still have a few boxes to check before we spill the news, but stay tuned!  John and I couldn't be more excited and thank you all for your kind words, sweet comments, and encouragement throughout the last couple of crazy weeks!

Thanks so much for stopping by, xx.
