A Little Fash Blvd...

Good Morning Loves,

Like most of you who follow my blog, I too am a sucker for Fashion Blogs.  One of my favorite daily reads is Fash Boulevard.  Anna is an amazing blogger who has such a great story that a lot of girls can relate to.  I found her blog through LaurenConrad.com, another one of my favorite reads, and have fallen in love with it.  After only creating her blog a little over a year ago, Fash Boulevard has nearly 5500 followers and Anna has had the opportunity to collaborate with Designers such as Lauren Conrad, Macys, Kohls, Glamour, Teen Vogue, College Lifestyles Magazine, Brink Magazine, Giuseppe Zanotti, Alexis Bittar, OPI, Shoemint, Jewelmint, Fibi and Clo New York, Bar 111, ASOS, Melissa Joy Manning, Caroline Cree, Frock Candy, Shoe Dazzle, 31 Bits, and more.  Not only does she have an awesome fashion sense, her posts are fun and inspiring.  I recently had the opportunity to interview Anna and she is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the out.  So sweet, humble and easy to talk to.  I asked her five random questions that I thought my followers would be interested to read and know:

1.) What inspired you to become a Fashion Blogger?
I first got the idea to start a blog while I was interning at BCBG Max Azria headquarters in LA. I had just graduated from Auburn University, and was thousands of miles away from my family, walking wide-eyed through this incredibly surreal opportunity. I felt like I was living in a movie and instantly started toying with the idea of documenting it through a blog. When the internship ended I landed a major visual merchandising job with a New York based company and the idea of starting a blog was put on the back burner. At 22 I found myself in charge of 7 brands throughout 26 Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s in Southern California. As hectic and demanding as the job was, I would find myself spending my free time thinking about what I really wanted out of life. I had these fabulous dreams that I knew I could reach, but I just didn’t know how. The blog was always in the back of my mind, but I knew there was no way I could put the time into it that it would need with such a crazy schedule. Then a week before Christmas, the company unexpectedly let the entire visual department go. Returning home wasn’t an option, so instead of feeling sorry for myself, I decided to create a brand that would someday allow me to fulfill all my goals. Fash Boulevard was the first step and I’ve been so blessed with the amount of opportunities that have come from it.

2.) What is your favorite color to wear and why?
My favorite color is plum purple, but my favorite color to wear is probably yellow, especially during the summer. It always adds a bright pop and despite popular belief, I think it looks great on blondes.

3.) What is the most expensive item in your closet that you adore?
My Lydia dress by Rachel Zoe. It was close to $500, but extremely wearable. The hidden details lend to endless style opportunities, which is super key when breaking the bank for fashion. (here + here)

4.)When do you create your blog posts and how much time do you put in to it each week?
Fash Boulevard and building the Fash brand is a seven day a week  job, ranging between 10 to 12 hours a day. Whether I'm working on one of the various Fash columns I write for magazines, guest blogging for Lauren Conrad, or meeting with designers, there's not an hour in the day that's not Fash dedicated. Because projects and business trips pop up every day it's important that I'm prepared ahead of time so I try to stay a week or two ahead on all of my post.

5.) Who is your favorite Designer and why?
Rachel Zoe without question. Her pieces are timeless, fabulous, and expensive enough to keep me wishing I could own everything. But for now, the more affordable brands like Bar 111, LC Lauren Conrad, and BCBG dominate my closet.

I have made so many friends and met a lot of amazing people through blogging and Anna is definitely one of them.  Fash Boulevard inspires me to work extra hard on For All Things Lovely and how it can pay off in the end.  Thank you to all of my sweet followers and cheers to making friends in the blogging world! :)

Thanks Anna for allowing me to interview you--you're a doll!

Have a lovely day!

Meg

Haiti...

Good Morning Loves!

I'm so glad to be back and catching up in the blogging world.  I hope you all had a great week while I was gone!  The real reason I had to take a week off from blogging was because J and I were on a mission trip last week with a team from our Church to Haiti.  It was amazing!  We only had electricity in the evenings and mornings for a couple of hours and definitely no Internet, so blogging was not an option.  I have to admit, it was nice to be without electronics for one week and realize the world still goes on.  :) Words cannot express the beautiful time we spent there and Haiti will always hold a special place in my heart.  Our Church has partnered with Alex's House, a local orphanage in Port Au Prince, and as of right now they have about 26 precious kids that we got to love on last week.  Our main goal was to help with construction for the new orphanage which will be located in Kaliko Beach, out of the city, which is also where we stayed.  Haiti is a breath-taking place for many reasons--a lot of beautiful land and beaches, but there's even more poverty and devastation.  I usually don't share many personal details on my blog because I like to keep the focus on other things, but I thought I would give you a quick recap of the week!

Getting ready to board the plane!
Me and my Mother in Law with lots of energy before the week!
 Tent Cities in Haiti.

 Beautiful Beaches...
And Mountains, all in one place.

Loved this sweet little boy, William.  His Mom is a local teacher in Haiti.
This is the Mass Grave where over 300,000 Haitians were buried after the Earthquake.  Definitely an emotional place to visit, but Haiti has been so blessed with an outpour of love since the tragedy.
A sweet little girl, Jamie Lynn, at the current orphanage in Port Au Prince.
The sidewalk leading to the orphanage.
At Alex's House with J, Jamie Lynn, and Ephesian.
Taking the kiddos for a walk...
 Port Au Prince, Haiti.
This little one, Willie, is one of the newest orphans and was extremely sick during our visit.  Praying every day for him to get well quickly.

The new orphanage in construction in Kaliko Beach. Out of the city and plenty of room for the kids to run and play.
 Ephesian...love him.
And Kinsey, a 3 year old, precious little boy who stole my heart.

It was a long week and probably the hardest thing I've ever done, but totally and 100% worth it in the end.  We can't wait to go back next year!
Have a lovely Monday!

Meg

Lust-Worthy Manicures

Good Morning Loves,

I have to admit, when it comes to keeping your nails perfect and groomed 24/7--I'm a little slack.  If I paint my nails on Saturday, they'll be chipped by Sunday.  So, I decided a few months back to try my best to keep going to the Nail Salon and let someone else take control.  I adore the gel polish, it's such a great option for people who are rough on their nails like me.  However, sure the hot pink looks good with most things, but what about when you want to change it up?  You're stuck with that color for at least 2-3 weeks until you go back for a change--and that's the part I'm not too fond of.  So today, I thought as a little inspiration for myself and my sweet followers, I would do a post dedicated to all of the lust-worthy manicures out there.

Manicures
leopard
Moustachioed Manicures
10 Metallic Manicures
Burberry nails
Fourth of July
ombre glitter nails
accent nail
stripped ring-finger manicure
These ideas are perfect for switching out the normal mani and adding a touch of sparkle!
Which one is your fave?
Have a lovely day!

Meg

Friendship...

Good Morning Loves,

I hope you all had a great weekend! Just that quick--it's Monday again!  Today starts a very, very busy week for me and I'm just hoping to get through it with lots of energy and being productive.

My Best Friend Kayci (we've literally been friends since we were born) is moving this week.  Although I'm so, so sad that we will be separated for a few years, I'm even more excited and happy for her and her husband as they start this new journey in their life together.  Plus, they're moving to Hawaii--I mean, if you had to move, what could be better than that?!  Let's just say, we will definitely be going to visit. :)

Friends, Best Friends
I'm so thankful to have such an amazing friend in my life and cannot wait to see what the future holds for both of our lives.  Cheers to Friendship, girls! :)

Have a lovely day!

Celebrate Good TImes {Come On}...

Good Morning Loves,

celebrate

Pop that top, throw the confetti and bring out the noise makers--I'm celebrating! :)
Four years ago today, I was 19 years old, laying in a hospital bed waiting on results.  After many biopsies, scans and ultimately radiation, I was thankfully declared, cancer free.  Whew, what a relief!  I have been blessed with such an amazing husband and an incredible family that helped me every step of the way.  Cancer is never a word you want to hear, let along have and I am so thankful that milestone in my life is over! So, today I'm just celebrating life and all the little things that come along with it.
I hope you all have a lovely day!!

Meg

I love/want everything about this look. Olivia Palermo is gorgeous and definitely knows what she's doing when it comes to Fashion.  Plus, her dapper boyfriend, Johannes Huebl is not hard to look at either.  They attended the Valentino Couture fashion show this past week, which I’m sure was nothing short of fabulous.  Olivia is wearing a Valentino lace dress, accessorized with stunning cat eye sunnies (my fave) and these uh-mazing Giuseppe Zanotti heels.  I love this ultra-feminine dress that makes this “City” girl look sweeter than ever.  What do you guys think of this chic ensemble?

Have a lovely day!

Bits of the Weekend:

Good Morning Loves,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend!  Here's a few snapshots of mine:

Spending time with my sweet nieces, Lilly and Emma.

And, while the girls cuddled on the couch, the boys of course had to play video games...

One of my favorite things in the world--a shaved ice. :) Blue Raspberry with Cream...yum.

Me and my adorable niece Karlee Elizabeth--we were celebrating her 7th Birthday!

And another niece--precious little Kadee Claire.  I know what you're thinking-- a lot of kids! :) There's 4 boys and 4 girls. :)

Playing outside with Lilly and Kadee Claire.

Us girls had a sleep over and they just had to try on every pair of shoes I own. :) Needless to say, they walked in those heels pretty well--I taught them everything they know. :)

Getting in a little pool time, of course...

My sweet family at the Luau Cookout on Saturday to honor my best friend, Kayci and her husband as they prepare to move to Hawaii in a few days!

Have a lovely Monday, y'all!
xoxo,
Meg

P.S.--Stay tuned this week for a couple of Wardrobe Posts + a fun Giveaway! :)

Snapshots of the Week...

Good Morning Loves,

Was it just me or did yesterday reaallyyy feel like a Monday?  Having Wednesday off was so great, but it definitely threw me off a little!  Anyway, I'm so glad it's Friday and looking forward to a super fun weekend ahead.  Seven (out of 9) of our nieces and nephews are in town + my sister in law so I'm sure I'll have plenty to keep me busy!  Lots of pool time and playing dress up in my future for this weekend which is A okay with me. :)  Here's a look at my week:

Unfortunately,  I was pretty sick this week.  I spent Monday and Tuesday in the bed with a blanket over my head.  A random Summer Cold=kicked. my. butt. -- J was so sweet and brought me quite a few meals in bed, including this Breakfast on Wednesday.  I'm such a lucky girl. :)

Finally feeling a little better by Wednesday, so we were poolside for most of the day, followed by a fun dinner at Trio's where I devoured this yummy Calzone.

Frozen Yogurt--yes, please!  An after dinner treat before the fireworks show!

Outdoor concert in Downtown Greenville for the 4th--it was a jazz band full of Army guys and they were so good!

One of my best friends, Shanna and I Downtown in the craziness of a million people.

Her sweet daughter, Emma.  She's on my blog all the time, I cannot stop taking pictures of this precious girl.  She's adorable.

I have to admit--there was a little Magic Mike in my life this week. :) Went out for a fun girls night last night, Dinner + a Movie.  This is an awful photo if you haven't seen it (just a tease), and if you have...well, enough said.

One of my favorite drinks ever is from Atlanta Bread Co.--a hot, Spiced Chi...yum!  It's like Christmas in a cup...in July.  :/  I'm noticing a lot of food in this post now that I'm writing it--what can I say?  I was one hungry girl after spending 2 days in bed. :)

And of course, the week would't be complete with a few fireworks.  They never get old to me no matter what age I am.  There's something about fireworks that are so romantic on a Summer night. :)

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!  What are your plans?

xoxo,
Meg
